Why Macmillan?

Macmillan improves the lives of people affected by cancer. We help with all the things that people affected by cancer want and need, from specialist health care and information to practical, emotional and financial support.

It’s not only patients who live with cancer and need support, so we also help carers, families and communities. We guide people through the system, supporting them every step of the way.

'Before I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I'd heard of Macmillan. But like many people, I thought "Macmillan = nurses". I didn't know about the other ways Macmillan helps people, all the way through cancer.' Nazira Visram

We provide specialist care from health and social care professionals who are leaders in their field, supporting people physically and emotionally. We also provide practical, emotional and financial support, as well as helping people affected by cancer to help themselves through support groups and special programmes.
